Bryan Sullivan Quoted in International Business Times Article

Bryan Sullivan was quoted in Matt Pressberg’s International Business Times piece “Hollywood Horror Producers Hope To Scare Up Small Investors Through New SEC Equity Crowdfunding Rules.” In the article, Bryan discusses how crowdfunding and film production usually don’t mix, unless the risk is spread among a number of different projects.

“The entertainment industry is so high-risk compared to almost everything else, so it’s not typically great for crowdfunding,” Bryan says. “But the Horror Equity Fund is different, because they plan to invest in a broad range of horror films and involve the fans. They’re not doing one more and sinking all their money into it.”

Bryan Sullivan Quoted in Los Angeles Times Article

Partner Bryan Sullivan was recently quoted in Ryan Faughnder, Yvonne Villarreal and Daniel Miller’s Los Angeles Times article “Mental competence suit against Redstone raises questions over future of Viacom and CBS.” The piece discusses the claims filed by Sumner Redstone’s former girlfriend that the executive’s health has long been deteriorating, and that he is no longer capable of making decisions. According to Bryan, if the companies in Redstone’s media empire were aware of any health problems and failed to inform shareholders, this could leave them vulnerable to potential lawsuits.

“It raises the question of who knew what when, and what should’ve been disclosed to shareholders at what point in time,” says Bryan. “If one person in the power structure knew he was incompetent, then there is potential liability under SEC regulations for failure to disclose material facts.”
