In the recent Fox News article “Country Star Chris Young’s Surveillance Video ‘Could Undermine’ Officer’s Version of Events: Expert,” Bryan Sullivan and Devin McRae weighed in on the viability of the case after the discovery that a video showing events leading up to the arrest contradicts the affidavit of what happened.
The video details the encounter described by a Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission Officer, who accused Young of drunkenly assaulting him Monday evening. Devin clarifies what may have happened that night,
When asked about the difference between the two versions of the story, Devin shares, “Generally, and it’s human nature, people tell their version of events that make them appear in the best possible light.”
Bryan notes that this new video evidence could be critically important to the defense, sharing that “the videos, if authenticated and admitted into evidence can be very powerful to a jury as it gives the jury a basis to make their own determination of the credibility of the recollection of the witnesses and participants.”
Young’s charges are now pending in Davidson County General Sessions Court. The star is asking for the charges, including disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, to be completely dismissed.
