Lauren Barland

Associate

Lauren Barland is an associate with Early Sullivan Wright Gizer & McRae LLP. She is tri-national (English, French, and Australian) and fluent in both English and French.

Prior to joining Early Sullivan, Lauren worked as a legal research assistant for a leading defamation lawyer in Los Angeles, where she researched defamation legal issues and case law, conducted background investigations for litigation strategy, and performed cite checking tasks for court briefs.

She also worked as a post graduate legal intern at California Lawyers for the Arts, where she conducted client intake interviews on a wide range of IP, business law, and arts-related legal matters, and prepared concise fact statements for attorneys pertaining to these legal issues.

Lauren received her Master of Laws (LL.M.) in 2023 with a specialization in IP & Tech Law from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. She graduated on the Dean’s List with Pro Bono Highest Honors. During her LL.M., Lauren served as a member of the Berkeley Technology Law Journal and participated in two Pro Bono Projects: the California Asylum Representation Clinic as well as the Youth Advocacy Project.

In 2022, she earned her Master I in International Law from Université Paris Panthéon-Assas (Assas) after completing her undergraduate Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) in English Law and French Law at King’s College London. She is licensed to practice law in California.
